Why can't people just do what they say they're going to do? It's not that hard, you know, to take just a minute or two out of your life to actually fulfil that little verbal contract you agreed upon.

Example 1; Say you're going to travel across the ocean and settle somewhere else to live. You state quite clearly that before you leave you'll come say hello in person one last time. And then, a month after you've left, a mutual friend is the one to inform me that yes, indeed, you were in town. And saw "everyone". Thanks, bitch. Glad to be included amongst your friends.

Example 2 (and most frequent); "I'll call you this afternoon". I keep my phone on me all afternoon, waiting for that call with baited breath. After 5:30 it begins to become very clear that you've forgotten all about me, or just don't feel that I'm important enough to warrant half a minute and two goddamn words. If you're really that concerned about time, call and just say "no, sorry". That's all I need to hear. Not "I'll give you a call this afternoon" that never comes. You didn't say "I'll call you if you got it", just that you'd call.
So don't be a shit just because I'm not one of your rich, successful buddies/the bestest suck-up ever.
